Individuals Seeking Social Security Disability Can Now Qualify With New Conditions
Oct 12, 2011
Zephyrhills, FL (Law Firm Newswire) October 11, 2011 – Social Security recently added 12 new compassionate allowances to their fast-track disability process. These allowances are now incorporated into the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) disability benefits standards. Individuals who have the following can now receive a fast-track decision:
• aortic atresia
• Eisenmenger Syndrome
• mitral valve atresia
• endomyocardial fibrosis
• primary cardiac amyloidosis
• hypoplastic left heart syndrome
• tricuspid atresia
• single ventricle
• pulmonary atresia
• left ventricular assist devices
• heart transplant graft failure
• heart transplant wait list – 1A/1B
“These new conditions will allow an individual to get benefits quickly from the SSA,” said Zephyrhills Social Security Disability lawyer Robert Alston. “Having an attorney to represent your case and thoroughly fill out the application along with strong medical evidence about one of these conditions will help you get the funds needed for your disability.”
Cases can be approved in a matter of weeks, not months or years, with compassionate allowance (CAL) cases. Some cases can also be classified for a Quick Disability Determination (QDD). In these instances, the SSA analyzes that a person has an increased chance of being disabled and the SSA can quickly verify the facts of the case.
“For individuals who did their Social Security disability application on their own and were denied, this can be a chance for a disability claim to receive an award with these new allowances,” said Alston. “We can help you no matter what stage your case is at – whether you are just thinking of applying or are at the reconsideration, or hearing stage.”
