Litigation Funding Corporation Reports Driver Going Too Fast For Road Conditions Killed Innocent Passenger
Apr 7, 2012
Southfield, MI (Law Firm Newswire) April 6, 2012 – When the weather is bad, often the roads are as well. It appears too many drivers do not adjust for road conditions.
“Driving more cautiously on slippery roads would seem to be a no-brainer; unfortunately, there are too many drivers who figure they have no need to drive carefully because nothing will happen to them. Those are often the ones who end up dead. Consider this senseless accident that killed a 30-year-old man,” reports Darren Monroe of Litigation Funding Corporation, Michigan.
This crash happened between a Chicago Transit Authority bus and a Ford Taurus. Evidently, the bus was heading south when the Taurus, heading north, crossed over into the bus’s lane, ramming head-on into the bus. At 8:00 a.m. the traffic was heavy, and on this day, the inclement weather made the road conditions less than optimal.
EMS crews were at the scene quickly, and transported two men from the Taurus to the hospital. One man died; the other suffered serious injuries, and was listed as in critical condition. He stabilized over the next few days.
“The cause of this accident? The man driving the Taurus was going too fast for prevailing road conditions. How simple would it have been to slow down to take the weather and the road conditions into account? Because he did not exercise appropriate due care and caution under the existing circumstances, an innocent man is dead, leaving behind a shocked and grieving family,” Monroe explains.
Despite the evidence that the Taurus driver was going too fast, the police investigation may also check his vehicle for mechanical defects or other possible causes for the car to careen into the bus. As for the dead man’s family, they will, more than likely, seek legal counsel from a personal injury lawyer. They need to know their rights and how to pursue a wrongful death lawsuit.
In the meantime, that family will be left with a large financial hole in their lives. Losing a loved one that contributed to the family finances is a bitter and devastating blow. They may need to source legal funding to help them pay the medical and other bills arising from this accident such as funeral and burial expenses. The family may also need assistance in paying other necessary bills and expenses while they wait for their case to be heard. One way to obtain a lawsuit “loan” is to apply for litigation funding.
Litigation financing is immediate, emergency, financial assistance to an approved plaintiff. If a plaintiff qualifies, the lawsuit settlement funding is sent directly into his/her bank account, and used to pay all of their important expenses. “Once that is done, they only have to wait for justice to be done, and there is no obligation to settle with an insurance company for less than their case may be worth,” Monroe added. “Lawsuit funding makes a huge difference to clients in tight financial situations.”
