North Andover, MA (Law Firm Newswire) February 22, 2016 – The 10th Annual “Animal Rights Day,” at the Massachusetts School of Law, to be held Saturday, March 26, 2016, on the schools’ campus, is slated to be the most exciting and memorable to date. Children, families and animal lovers of all ages will be treated to a schedule that kicks off at 8:30 am with complimentary breakfast, and continues with animal-related activities, presentations and demonstrations throughout the day. The final event will be an Easter Egg Hunt with the Easter Bunny at 1:30pm.
“We’re very proud of this on-going tradition, which not only sheds light on the important issue of treating animals humanely, but is also a fun and interesting experience for everyone who attends,” says Diane Sullivan, Assistant Dean of Students and Professor of Law.
The 2016 kids and family events schedule features animal crafts, face painting, story time, a police dog demonstration, a fire truck and animal rescue presentation, a visit from Curious Creatures and the MSPCA’s Barnyard Birds, and tips from Blue Dog Pet Training. Adult sessions include discussions about Dog Bite Defense and Liability, Animals as Property, Pet Wills and Trusts, Macrobiotic Cooking, and more.
Special guests include Steve Roberts, an award-winning dog trainer and handler. Roberts, who owns K-9 Top Performance in Reading, MA, is an expert in Protective Dog Training, and will demonstrate the associated techniques with the help of some of his most accomplished canine partners.
Also appearing to speak, and to accept a Humanitarian Award, are Greg Mahle, the real-life hero who has rescued over 30,000 stray dogs, and author Peter Zheutlin, who chronicled Mahle’s story in his New York Times Best Seller, Rescue Road: One Man, Thirty Thousand Dogs, and a Million Miles on the Last Hope Highway.
