Alleged Medical Negligence Resulted in Death Due to Necrotic Appendix
Mar 3, 2016
Southfield, MI (Law Firm Newswire) March 3, 2016 – Israel Brogdan allegedly died after being admitted at a hospital but was not examined by a doctor.
Brogdan’s mother, Sharon Brogdan of New Jersey, filed a wrongful death, medical malpractice lawsuit against a physician’s assistant and two doctors working for Correct Care Solutions LLC of Cambridge Springs, Pennsylvania. The suit alleged that Israel died December 16, 2014, in the care of Correct Care Solutions without ever being examined. She had been admitted with abdominal pain, congestion and a cough.
According to the documents filed in court, an exploratory laparotomy was performed December 15, 2014, which revealed a ruptured, necrotic appendix. Had Israel been examined properly, the physicians should have been able to diagnose appendicitis. Left too long, the emergency medical condition spiralled out of control and the life of a young girl was lost. The lawsuit named Dr. Jason Estrada, Dr. Paris Horan and Daniel Telega.
Medical care is very costly, and with the laparotomy procedure and the time spent in hospital in this case, the Brogdans would have been facing a large medical bill. Not every family has that kind of money on hand to handle emergency medical expenses. “An ideal solution for the family would be to fill out an application for pre-settlement funding,” said Daren Monroe, Litigation Funding Corporation representative. “A lawsuit loan would allow the family to pay all of their bills and still have funds in the bank to help with any other unexpected expenses.”
Litigation funding is an appealing alternative to plaintiffs faced with the possibility of bankruptcy in the face of staggering medical costs. The fast cash lawsuit loan, once approved, is sent directly to the plaintiff’s bank account and is accessible immediately. “It offers a victim’s family the peace of mind of knowing their bills are taken care of and that they do not have to deal with insurance companies attempting to get them to settle for pennies on the dollar,” Monroe said.
Plaintiffs need only have an attorney of record and all the details of their case to apply for pre-settlement funding. One call or an online application can start the process.
