Buttock Liposuction Procedure Allegedly Causes Necrotizing Infection
Aug 30, 2016
Southfield, MI (Law Firm Newswire) August 30, 2016 – Sharrone Travis allegedly contracted a necrotizing infection as the result of improper liposuction on her buttocks.
Chicago resident Sharrone Travis underwent a surgical procedure, referred to as liposuction, on her buttocks. The operation was performed by Dr. Florence Mussat and carried out in a hospital – Presence St. Joseph-Chicago.
As a result of the liposuction surgery, Travis allegedly contracted a post-surgical, severely painful necrotizing infection. She filed a medical malpractice lawsuit against the doctor, the hospital and hospital network alleging negligence in performing the surgery and failure of medical staff to check on her after the operation.
Ms. Travis would be facing significantly high medical bills as a result of her surgery and the resulting infection she allegedly contracted. In order to be able to pay those medical bills, one option open for her would be to apply for a lawsuit loan from a litigation funding company.
To apply for litigation funding, a plaintiff needs the attorney of record to agree to work with the lawsuit loan request and to provide the required case documentation. “Your personal injury, medical malpractice attorney has vast experience dealing with assessing injury cases and rarely underestimates a possible damage award,” stated Litigation Funding Corporation representative, Daren Monroe. Most plaintiffs that apply for funding have their case assessed on the facts of the actual accident, who is deemed to be liable and if there is an ability to pay.
”While lawsuit funding many not be ideal for everyone,” added Monroe, “it is certainly worth checking out.”
