Steinberg Law Firm Partners with St. Stephen Mayor and Community Activist to Resurrect Basketball Court
Sep 7, 2017
Charleston, SC (Law Firm Newswire) September 7, 2017 – Steinberg Law Firm LLP, has teamed up to assist in resurrecting an outdoors basketball court with St. Stephen Mayor, John Rivers and St. Stephen community activist Willie Powell.
Steinberg Law Firm is sponsoring one of the basketball hoops and will be recognized in a special commemoration September 8, 2017. St. Stephen is a town in Berkeley County, South Carolina, included in the Charleston-North Charleston-Summerville metropolitan area.
“Funding [for plans like this] was always a problem,” said Mayor Rivers of the anticipated project and who has high hopes that “ . . . teens will have a basketball court and we’ll have a decent area for our kids to come out.”
The Parks Department is expecting to begin the design process for the court soon and construction is expected to be complete by 2020. The Borough of Parks is dedicated to maintaining open spaces, playgrounds, natural resources and recreational facilities to provide safe places for children to play and exercise now and in the future.
Attorney Steven Goldberg of Steinberg Law Firm LLP is attending the ceremony, at the Old Town Playground, next to PS 46, that plans to give a nod of appreciation to the law office by featuring the firm’s decal on the basketball glass board. Residents and basketball enthusiasts are invited to join the firm and other attendees at the ceremony to launch an exciting and much needed recreational space for the local community.
Steven E. Goldberg earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law, joining the Steinberg Law Firm in 1993.
