Charleston, SC (Law Firm Newswire) October 31, 2017 – While the Steinberg Law Firm is best known for protecting the rights of injured people, they also take pride in their service to the local community. For over 90 years, the personal injury law firm has made it their mission to give back to local organizations across the lowcountry who are equally dedicated to improving the lives of others.
Throughout the year, their Community Fund Program accepts applications, which are considered on a yearly basis. Announcements regarding decisions are made in the fall or summer of every year. Grants range in amount from $200 to $2,500.
One organization that is a recipient of funding this year is Yo Art! Inc., which will receive $1,380 to assist in its mission to provide public school children with opportunities to explore their aptitude in the media arts and other art forms, while discovering their creative potential under the oversight of professionals. Yo Art! Inc. serves 12 schools and more than 1,000 students in the Charleston, South Carolina area. The students range in age from six to 14, and are located within the Charleston and Berkeley County public school system.
The Steinberg Law Firm is “proud to present this award to Yo Art! Inc., which has been instrumental in teaching students about the media arts, and helping them develop their artistic abilities.”
Several of the schools are Title 1 schools with a predominantly minority population. Yo Art! Inc. is introducing the students to new media arts skills, to which they have not yet been exposed. From 2007 to 2016, Yo Art! Inc. has served more than 5,000 students in the tri-county.
Yo Art! Inc.’s projects foster learning through discovery, discipline, improvisation and technique. The organization has partnered with local artists and arts organizations to offer arts education, nurturing relationships and confidence that help young people to have a better knowledge of themselves, and improved ways of expression as they realize and hone their artistic talents.
Yo Art! Inc. has succeeded in combining technology with traditional art media in order to improve the learning experience of students in the classroom. Its programs are intended to engage students via hands-on and individualized learning. Among the many programs that Yo Art! Inc. offers include, but are not limited to, industrial design, iPad Keynote, Coding, eBook Creator, Landscape Design, Murals and Graphics.
