Driver Charged With Intoxication Manslaughter in Fatal Vehicle Accident
Oct 26, 2018
Southfield, MI (Law Firm Newswire) October 26, 2018 – A Texas man died in a head-on crash with an alleged intoxicated driver.
Just prior to the collision, an alleged drunk driver was speeding westbound, in the middle lane of the highway, when he drove head-on into another vehicle.
Both drivers were taken to the hospital; however, the driver of the vehicle that was hit died. The other driver, who was subsequently charged with intoxicated manslaughter, sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The family of the deceased driver may wish to pursue a wrongful death lawsuit to recover compensation.
Some plaintiffs may have access to resources that would keep them stable until a verdict is delivered. However, not everyone is that fortunate. For a meritorious lawsuit, the plaintiff may be waiting months or years to receive compensation. “This can put a crimp in a plaintiffs’ ability to pay bills, especially if the deceased was the sole breadwinner,” said Litigation Funding Corporation representative, Daren Monroe. How will the bills get paid? While a plaintiff may despair when thinking of how to handle their finances, there is a solution.
Litigation funding is a lawsuit cash advance, or lawsuit loan, against a pending lawsuit. This lawsuit loan, plus fees and interest, is paid back once the case settles. Because funding is provided on a non-recourse basis, if the plaintiff loses their case, there is no repayment obligation.
