Brian LaBovick and Peter Hunt, attorneys at LaBovick Law Group, obtained an $8.2 million settlement on behalf of a pedestrian struck by an SUV driven by a teenager.
On January 18, 2014, Charles Jacobus was attempting to cross North Military Trail to catch a bus when he was struck by an SUV traveling southbound on North Military Trail near 45th Street in West Palm Beach, Florida. The driver of the SUV was a teenager who had just obtained her Florida driver’s license one day earlier.
As a result of the accident, Mr. Jacobus suffered numerous fractures, and other personal injuries that required him to be hospitalized for 58 days. The accident also caused him to suffer a partial loss of vision and a frontal lobe brain injury that affected his speech. Mr. Jacobus was a cashier at Walmart at the time of the accident and has been unable to return to work since the accident.
