The Interfaith Food Pantry and Resource Center is comprised of a community of “neighbors helping neighbors” totally dedicated to helping end hunger and support self-sufficiency. Thanks to the various committed Morris County partners who wholeheartedly support this project, the Pantry is able to offer nutritious food, education and resources to those in need, inspiring confidence in those that need it the most.
The Interfaith Food Pantry started when four local churches banded together to feed the hungry. Marilyn DiPrimo, along with Liz Soranno and Jill Andoloro, were collecting food for the Interfaith Council for Homeless Families. St. Margaret’s Church and Church of the Assumption were also running their own food distribution outlets.
The respective congregations realized they could work more efficiently by consolidating their efforts. The First Baptist Church became the location as it was within walking distance of senior housing. And thus began the Interfaith Food Pantry. The Interfaith Food Pantry is a 501(c)(3) organization.
The Interfaith Food Pantry’s mission is to:
· Improve the health/well-being of Morris County residents in need by providing access to food, nutrition education and related resources
· Provide a hands-on opportunity for neighbors to help other neighbors
· To educate the public about hunger issues in the Morris County area
Donations to the Interfaith Food Pantry are gratefully accepted via their website. To volunteer at the Interfaith Food Pantry, please visit the site to learn more. To contact the organization directly you can email the Pantry at: InterfaithFoodPantry@mcifp.org
