Austin Fire Department Says Ferrari Destroyed in a Drunk Driving Crash

Austin, TX (Law Firm Newswire) March 27, 2017 – On January 13, an inebriated Austin driver in a $385,000 Ferrari crashed the vehicle in the woods outside of Austin, Texas. This single vehicle accident was the result of driving while inebriated.

According to the Austin Fire Department who responded to the call out at approximately 2:30 a.m. the limited edition vehicle missed a turn, flew off the Red Bud Trial bridge at 40 feet in the air, flipped over and landed on its side at the bottom of a 40-foot ravine.

On arrival at the scene, it was determined that the three passengers inside the vehicle only sustained minor injuries. Eyewitness statements indicated to the police that the car was speeding at over a 100 mph. Police subsequently arrested the driver for driving under the influence (DUI).

In Texas drunk driving is referred to as driving while intoxicated (DWI). To determine just how inebriated a driver may be, police use a driver’s blood alcohol concentration (BAC). In the state of Texas, the blood alcohol concentrations are:

· Age 21 years and older: 0.08 percent
· Under the age of 21: any amount detectable
· Commercial drivers: 0.04 percent

“Most people when they are arrested for DWI are being arrested because the police have a reasonable suspicion that you are DWI.
