Accomplished Elder Law Attorney Speaks at NJ Legal Educational Seminar
Apr 30, 2011
Moorestown, NJ (Law Firm Newswire) April 29, 2011 – Certified Elder Law Attorney Thomas D. Begley, III, was a panelist for the “Nuts & Bolts of Elder Law and Estate Administration” at the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education (NJICLE) in late April. Begley III is admired and respected as a leader in estate administration and planning for the elderly and disabled.
“As the first of the baby boom generation enters retirement this year and in the coming decade, elder law and estate planning is going to become an even bigger focus,” said Thomas D. Begley, III, Esquire, CELA. “You don’t want to be vulnerable to improper planning and how it can wreak havoc on yourself and your family.”
U.S. News & World Report published an article showing that boomers are stressed because of low home values, dwindling pension plans, and the prospects of having to work longer. The Center for Retirement Research at Boston College released a report in March showing that more than half of people near or at retirement age were concerned about lower living standards because of their finances. The report also showed that if they received “tailored financial information, they felt they could make more reasonable retirement” and end of life plans.
Attorney Begley III sees this all the time at the Begley Law Group. Seniors and disabled individuals must focus on financial, health, and major family decisions early on to protect their assets and heirs. At the “Nuts & Bolts” seminar at the NJICLE Institute in Edison, N.J., he discussed topics such as the initiation of an estate, counseling the personal representative, tax issues, and closing the estate.
The Begley Law Group counsels individuals and their families who are creating a will and living trust for the first time, need to update it, or dealing with the death of a loved one. Their attorneys are well versed in power of attorney documents, Medicaid planning and Medicaid reform, veteran’s aid, special needs planning, and fiduciary services. Every partner at Begley Law Group is also a recipient of the prestigious New Jersey SuperLawyers award.
“We excel at helping you carefully plan for every scenario and give you peace of mind that your legacy will be as you want it,” said Begley III.
Begley III regularly speaks at the NJICLE Institute and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He is a former Director of the Elder Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association as well as a former chair of the Estate Planning and Probate Committee of the Burlington County Bar Association. He and the other attorneys at Begley Law Group stay updated on the latest state and federal laws that can affect the disabled, senior citizens, and their estates.
