New York, NY (Law Firm Newswire) November 14, 2012 – Abrams Garfinkel Margolis Bergson, LLP (“AGMB”) is excited to announce that Eric B. Post has joined the firm as partner in its Litigation Practice Group, working in the firm’s New York office. Prior to becoming a partner at AGMB, Mr. Post was a litigation associate at Kelley Drye & Warren LLP.
Mr. Post brings to AGMB 13 years of experience handling complex commercial litigation and dispute resolution for large corporations in federal and state courts and in arbitration. Mr. Post’s extensive experience handling high-stakes litigation for corporate clients includes cases involving claims for breach of contract, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, negligence, false advertising, copyright infringement, theft of trade secrets, denial of insurance coverage, bad faith, employment discrimination, wrongful termination, and declaratory and injunctive relief. Mr. Post also counsels clients on business risks and pre-litigation strategy. Mr. Post has represented financial institutions, insurance companies, technology and communications companies, manufacturers, retailers, publishers, and healthcare providers, among others.
“We are thrilled to have Eric join our litigation team,” said Barry Margolis, a co-founder of AGMB and co-chair of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. “Eric is a highly accomplished attorney and the combination of his professional skills and experience will be an asset to our strong, nationally recognized litigation practice.”
“Eric’s extensive litigation experience will be invaluable to the firm and our clients,” remarked Robert J. Bergson, another co-founder of AGMB and co-chair of the Litigation Practice Group. “Eric is also a perfect fit with AGMB’s collegial atmosphere and entrepreneurial culture.”
“I am looking forward to joining the highly regarded litigation practice that Barry Margolis and Rob Bergson have built at AGMB and contributing its success,” said Mr. Post. “The opportunity to work with these skilled litigators in their sophisticated but cost-conscious and results-focused practice is ideal for me, my clients and prospective clients, particularly in the current economy. That was a key factor in my decision to join AGMB.”
Mr. Post earned his law degree from Brooklyn Law School in 1999, graduating cum laude. He served as Notes and Comments Editor of the Brooklyn Law Review, was a Dean’s List Merit Scholar, and earned CALI Excellence Awards in Legal Writing and Civil Practice. Mr. Post received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan in 1996.
AGMB’s growth is not only reflected in the addition of Mr. Post to its Litigation Practice Group, but in the firm as a whole, now numbering 30 attorneys in several core practice areas including Banking Law, Cooperative and Condominium Law, Corporate and Securities Law, Entertainment Law, Litigation, Real Estate Law, Tax and Trust and Estates Law.
In January 2013, the firm is relocating from its current offices at 237 West 35th Street to the entire 18,500 square foot 17th floor at 1430 Broadway. The firm is also scheduled to launch its newly redesigned website before year end, replacing the existing site at www.agmblaw.com.
The firm has come a long way since Messrs. Margolis and Bergson left their big-firm roots in 2000 and started their litigation boutique, then known as Margolis Bergson LLP. In 2003, they merged their practice with entertainment lawyer Bill Abrams and real estate and banking law attorney Neil Garfinkel to form AGMB. The firm’s measured growth in its core practice areas over the years has contributed to its success. The firm welcomes Eric Post as its newest partner.
